About the project
My name is Natalie, and I’m on a mission to bring ‘Arts-on-Prescription’ to Hong Kong…
Two years ago, I began volunteering at a charity called RUN — and noticed pretty quickly that, while the kids had plenty of sports and academic support, they had no creative outlet. I organized art classes for the participants, and the results were magic! The kids lit up, and it was clear how much the arts benefitted them.
Having just completed a summer course on the Fundamentals of Neuroscience, I began connecting the dots. My research into Arts-on-Prescription revealed its surprisingly positive impact on those struggling, which sparked my passion to do more.
I started running more workshops, expanding the project to work with Food Angel — a charity I’ve volunteered with for many years. The response was incredible — it was clear the workshops were a respite from loneliness and a huge boost to participants’ mental health.
Working with these amazing individuals has been the absolute privilege of my life so far. I’m so excited to share their stories—and the story of Arts-on-Prescription—with the world!
